Flower Garden Ponies

Ever Watchful

Flower Garden Ponies are a little known breed.  They tend to inhabit overgrown and untended backyard gardens, making their appearance when all is quiet. If you can sit very still and be very quiet, you may get lucky and catch a glimpse of a tiny herd in your own garden….
(It took a lot of hours in one spot and a little bit of cinnamon oatmeal to get these shots!)

Parlor Cars

Thursday’s things in a row…
Brought to you today from the Illinois Railway Museum

Parlor cars or “observation” cars referred to the car placed on the tail end of a passenger train. At the turn of the 19th century, parlor cars generally featured large rear windows where passengers could watch the passing scenery. The parlor car’s most striking and discernible feature was an elaborate wrought-iron or brass railing, surrounding an open rear deck where elegantly dressed ladies and tuxedoed gentlemen could sip champagne while sitting on wicker chairs and watching the countryside pass by.

Oh Warmth, Where Did You Go?

From warm summer-like days for almost the entire month of March….
Back to 40 degrees and cold winds in April.

Mother Nature, I don’t mean to complain,
but isn’t this supposed to be the other way around?

Thursday’s Things in a Row

It’s Springtime in the Garden so I thought some fresh Sumac leaves would fit the bill nicely!

Be sure to visit Pat! She’s got some great news!

Bokeh

(BO-KEH) refers to the quality of the blurring of the out-of-focus portion of an image,

With a reflex (= mirror) lenses, it’s a doughnut bokeh: The blurring consists of “donuts,” round, circular patterns that ad an interesting twist to the overall image.
